Queen Porter Stomp conjure up a unique kind of mangrove swamp magic. Drawing on the serpentine and muddy currents of the Hawkesbury River, their sound swirls somewhere between a raucous New Orleans street parade and the haze of a late-night folk festival.
In a feet-stomping, skirt-twirling, dance floor frenzy, Queen Porter Stomp send a blaze of horns and a swinging rhythm section, with a banjo sharp enough to cut through a moonless night - all held together front and centre by Crystal Barreca’s honey like voice.
From Woodford to Falls Festival, Queen Porter Stomp have built a reputation for music that celebrates brass-soaked swing and river-born rhythm.
At the heart of this celebration is songwriting rich with sweet harmonies, uniquely capturing the ebb and flow of love and life on the river, peppered with the grit and bustle of Sydney’s Inner West.
