BARNEY MCALL: Barney McAll is one of Australia's most visionary and uncompromising musical voices — a Grammy-nominated, ARIA-winning pianist, composer and producer based in Melbourne whose work has defied categorisation across 28 solo albums and collaborations with Gary Bartz, Roy Ayers, Maceo Parker, Dewey Redman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Sia, and Fred Wesley.
His 2022 album Precious Energy — recorded with the Hiatus Kaiyote rhythm section, saxophonist Julien Wilson, vocalist Rita Satch, and living legend Gary Bartz — was named Album of the Year by AllMusic, called 'a magnum opus' and 'like drowning in honey' by critics, and nominated for an ARIA, the Australian Music Prize and a Music Victoria Award. It remains one of the most celebrated Australian jazz records of the decade.
A lecturer in jazz and improvisation at the University of Melbourne, McAll approaches every performance with the focused intensity of a man who knows that music can bend reality itself.

HORATIO LUNA
Henry Hicks, performing as Horatio Luna, is a Melbourne-based bass guitarist, producer and composer whose music sits at the fertile intersection of house, jazz, dub and broken beat. A founding member of the Melbourne collective East Coast Collective and a member of Lush Life, John Henderson and Teymori, Hicks has spent years quietly building one of the most distinctive sounds in Australian dance music.
His debut LP Yes Doctor (2020) earned him a dedicated following with its philosophy of 'not box-able music' — dub, jazz and bruk bleeding into one another over a foundation of deep house. His 2026 album Ciccin, released through La Sape Records, sees him push further, documenting a Melbourne underground in full flight with ten tracks of live, improvisational jazz-dance.
Whether leading a band or behind the decks, Horatio Luna brings an irresistible physicality to everything he touches.
